AI Course Creation Agent

Brief

We worked with Coursebox to rebuild their course creation engine from the ground up, replacing the existing system with a AI agent system powered with multiple tools. This new AI agent now generates all courses on the Coursebox platform, significantly lifting the quality, speed and interactivity of content creation.

Problem

Coursebox, already a leader in AI-powered education, was using an earlier generation of course generation that struggled with depth, variety and interactivity. While it was functional, it lacked the ability to include rich media, offer flexible content styles, and adapt its output to different teaching strategies. The manual curation required to bring courses up to a publishable standard was limiting the platform’s scalability and user experience. They needed something faster, more powerful, and tailored to users’ evolving expectations.

Solution

We engineered an AI agent-based course creation system, enabling users to generate a course from either a specific uploaded document or by simply describing their goal. The agent coordinates multiple tools in the background:

• A vector database to search and structure learning content from uploaded documents and reference websites
• An image database that stores visuals extracted from uploaded PDFs, PowerPoints, Word documents, Excel files and even websites
• A real-time generation pipeline that builds structured sections with info pages, quizzes, and activities

The AI generates interactive elements like flip cards, accordions and info tabs. It auto-inserts relevant images from uploaded files, AI-generated visuals, and YouTube videos. It can also suggest further reading links. All of these elements are configurable by the user before generation – such as level of depth, media richness, and tone of writing.

The entire process runs near-instantly, with users able to watch the course build live. This has fundamentally transformed how courses are developed on Coursebox.

Result

Since implementation, this AI agent has become the default method for course creation on Coursebox. Courses now include richer media, interactive elements and better structured educational experiences with minimal user effort. The uplift in quality and usability has directly increased Coursebox’s Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) by enabling more customers to create and sell high-quality courses faster. The speed and professional polish of the new AI system has also helped Coursebox attract and retain a broader base of educators.
